Here's a weird question, can you use this as a mixer if it's just getting power and I have studio monitors plugged in to in and playing audio without the USB connected computer turned on?

I am so DANG frustrated with Descript. I just bought the year long subscription but keep running into issues. I recorded my video on my phone camera this morning and uploaded it into descript to edit, and the video coloration on my face is ALL wrong. I have no idea how to fix it. There are coloration settings in descript (but I have no idea how to edit it to make my face look right). I uploaded the same video files to iMovie, and everything looks fine. I don't get it. I wish i could make my workflow be as simple as yours in this video!

Thanks for a very useful overview of some of the most common alternatives, and of course there are a bunch of others too. Anyway, we have been using Descript for the convenient text editing capabilities. Lately we have also tried Filmora, which has a lot of editing options, but our current favorite is Camtasia 2024, which has everything we need: ease of use, good templates, and in the new version really nifty ways to produce animated subtitles/captions and great looking screen recordings similar to what you showed in Tella. And the "polishing" can also be done with great results in both Camtasia and Filmora. No need for Adobe Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro, if you are not a real pro as a video producer.

Besides being a sucker for studio tours, I'm a sucker for video workflows too. Really nice overview. I've played with Notion some but never got into it. May have to rethink that after watching your vid. Re: editing. Glad Descript works for you but I'm still a FCP dude! Good stuff!

I am about to start recording a course and was going to do it through zoom mostly because the quality of what I look like on it is the best. I am just learning how to use ecamm but to use zoom through it you have to use the ecamm camera as a virtual and it's too blurry in the zoom window. I'm so curious how you do it because you look so beautiful on camera! You threw out a lot of tools though so I'm confused what your workflow actually is for your YT videos?

Any recommendations for lighting if you wear glasses? that doesn't show up in your glasses.

Does it have mouse tracker and zoom?

you can't upload the script and read it. You have to have it connected to a computer for it to work.

Great insights in this video!!! Something changed about your mic/sound from 3 years ago sound fuller richer and more pro now. For Windows you can right click -> unclick show desktop icons .....also in Chrom to hide bookmarks bar Ctrl-shift-b

I'm working on a series of audiobooks, it is a digital product but I'm not sure it's scaleable like a course. I don't really want to teach but entertain. Undecided if I should send that much and if it will be applicable to my kind of digital product. 🤔

Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I've been looking for a good and reliable video editor for my project. I ended up on a great FREE editor called Davinci Resolve. It's complete with other amazing free tools as well. I hope that you give it a try.
